Denise Mitchell: I would like to touch base on the topic of education. We spoke about education supports and have seen the report. In one example the children said noise made it difficult for them to concentrate or read. Are there data for the effects of homelessness on children's education? Are the children who are living in the hubs and hotels falling behind in their education?

Denise Mitchell: That brings me back to children's mental health. The Ombudsman for Children's report states that children in homelessness expressed sadness, confusion, anger and isolation. We all agree it is tough on children. What supports are provided for children in the hubs who are expressing these feelings? Is therapeutic assistance available?

I read with interest Focus Ireland's recent report which showed that of 119 children leaving care, 14 children were homeless and 22 were facing the risk of becoming homeless. These are children leaving care and moving on to independent living. What could the committee do to support these children? What difficulties do these young adults face?
