Mattie McGrath: They do not. Obviously, I am opposed to this. The deletion of Article 40.3.3° of the Constitution is not required to protect the life of the mother. It is possible to provide any additional clarity that may be required by medical professionals by way of ordinary legislation, or amended medical practice guidelines, or both.
