Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Bill 2017: Second Stage (Resumed) (12 Jul 2017)

Éamon Ó Cuív: May I call a quorum? This has been an extraordinary debate, but no back bench Fine Gael Deputies have attended. They should have the courtesy to attend and listen to the Minister of State.

Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Bill 2017: Second Stage (12 Jul 2017)

Éamon Ó Cuív: The Minister should read what he said in the Irish Independentlast week.

Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Bill 2017: Second Stage (12 Jul 2017)

Éamon Ó Cuív: That is wrong on two counts. The Minister, Deputy Ring, did say it and I did not close it. If the Minister was to check the Department Estimate of the year that I was in the Department in 2010, he will find that there was a substantial amount of money for the CLÁR programme. I did not close it and the Minister, Deputy Ring, did not set it up. The reality is there was previously a...

Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Bill 2017: Second Stage (12 Jul 2017)

Éamon Ó Cuív: That was a great example of a cliché-laden speech with no substance. The way the Department of Rural and Community Development is being set up is abysmal. We need a lot more detail from the Minister as to what is intended. Let us strip away all the fine talk and all the ráiméis in the Minister's speech that says nothing and is just a collection of wild statements with no...

Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Bill 2017: Order for Second Stage (12 Jul 2017)

Éamon Ó Cuív: Is the sponsoring Minister going to come in to speak on the Bill? Éamon Ó Cuív: Chuir rud a dúirt an tUasal Mac Con Iomaire cineál iontais orm. Dúirt sé go bhfuil brú airgid ar RTÉ. Is dóigh liom go mbeadh sé, agus go bhfuil sé, an-deacair ag an ngnáthphobal é sin a thuiscint maidir le heagraíocht atá in ann na céadta míle euro a íoc i dtuarastal le daoine in aghaidh na bliana - dhá...

Joint Standing Committee on the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Islands: Gnó an Choiste (11 Jul 2017)

Éamon Ó Cuív: B'fhearr liom é sin a scrúdú níos fearr. Tá argóintí ann faoi séimhithe anseo agus ansiúd. Níl mise in ann breithiúnas a thabhairt air sin. Sílim féin go mba cheart ceist a chur ar Choimisiún Tithe an Oireachtais cén córas atá i gceist aige le duine éigin neamhspleách gairmiúil a fháil...
