Seanad: Special Joint Committee on the Eighth Amendment of the Constitution: Motion (20 Jun 2017)

Jerry Buttimer: The Committee on Procedure and Privileges has discussed this and I do not disagree with the broad thrust of what Senator Higgins has expressed. It is a very bad precedent because it changes the process for committees of the Houses of the Oireachtas. I do not understand why the Dáil Business Committee is pursuing this. The Seanad Committee on Procedure and Privileges agreed the motion...

Seanad: Special Joint Committee on the Eighth Amendment of the Constitution: Motion (20 Jun 2017)

Jerry Buttimer: We got a change in representation of the Seanad as well. Regardless of who chairs the committee, it is important its work is carried out in a manner that is open to all possibilities and outcomes.
