Joan Burton: The person concerned has been awarded disability allowance with effect from 9 July 2014. The first payment was made to the person in question on 24 June 2015. Once a decision is made and an application is put into payment, arrears are held for a period so that any necessary adjustment can be made in respect of other overlapping payments or in respect of outstanding payments.
