We agreed at the previous meeting that members would submit topics or suggestions for the work programme and members have received the proposed or draft list of topics. Steven Matthews: I thank the Deputy. A quarterly review of the programme for Government was discussed at a previous meeting and it was agreed that we will try to get the Minister and the Department to appear before the committee on a quarterly basis. The latent defects redress scheme was raised in a number of submissions and it was agreed that it will form part of our work programme.

Steven Matthews: That is a good idea. The proposal is that there will be a virtual meeting on the report on deaths in homelessness and Senator Fitzpatrick wishes also to examine the location of services.

Steven Matthews: We will come back to Deputy Ó Broin's second-tier list. We have received a submission from Senator Moynihan regarding reports on construction costs in housing, the development of affordable renting schemes and affordable housing schemes and improving security of tenure for renters. That is covered in other submissions.

Steven Matthews: I thank the Deputy. Deputy Duffy made a submission on building defects and fire safety. That issue will be covered as part of the subject of latent defects. He has also referred to the Multi-Unit Developments Act 2011.
