Why not consider all the other issues that have been raised during these debates, which have gone on but rightly so? What the Minister is hoping to do will change things forever in rural Ireland which...

Michael Healy-Rae: When I started off in a county council every councillor was entitled to use councillor's allocation to cut hedges. That was stopped. One of the main reasons people have accidents on narrow country roads is that they are keeping out from the ditches because hedges are not being cut.
