- Public Accounts Committee: Special Report No. 94 of the Comptroller and Auditor General: National Asset Management Agency Sale of Project Eagle (Resumed) (17 Nov 2016)
Mary Lou McDonald: If the witness could consider it, it would be most helpful. On 31 March, the meeting occurs as the Chairman has indicated. In this case it involves Mr. Frank Daly, and Mr. McDonagh was at the meeting. The Minister for Finance, Deputy Noonan, and senior officials from the Department were also party to the meeting. Who accompanied Mr. Snow to the meeting from Cerberus?
- Public Accounts Committee: Special Report No. 94 of the Comptroller and Auditor General: National Asset Management Agency Sale of Project Eagle (Resumed) (17 Nov 2016)
Mary Lou McDonald: Unlike in the North, Cerberus does not have anybody from Tughans or its partners at Brown Rudnick making an appearance at the Southern meeting. I am just making that as an observation. It is interesting, is it not?

Mary Lou McDonald: Is it not a bit odd that the very persons being paid very generously and quite handsomely to facilitate the interaction with the stakeholders were not at the meeting? Who set up that meeting?
- Public Accounts Committee: Special Report No. 94 of the Comptroller and Auditor General: National Asset Management Agency Sale of Project Eagle (Resumed) (17 Nov 2016)
Mary Lou McDonald: Given that Mr. Ian Coulter was there, it seems Brown Rudnick and Tughans or whatever combination of those parties set up the Northern meeting. Did they set up the Southern meeting?

- Public Accounts Committee: Special Report No. 94 of the Comptroller and Auditor General: National Asset Management Agency Sale of Project Eagle (Resumed) (17 Nov 2016)
Mary Lou McDonald: Will the witness find out?
- Public Accounts Committee: Special Report No. 94 of the Comptroller and Auditor General: National Asset Management Agency Sale of Project Eagle (Resumed) (17 Nov 2016)
Mary Lou McDonald: Could we find out? The bit that astonishes me, which has remained the position of Cerberus and NAMA, is that NAMA had no notion of Brown Rudnick being involved with Cerberus until 2 April. The witness may keep me right on those dates. In other words, the agency did not know Brown Rudnick had any involvement with Cerberus until the bid was in. To put it one way, I am a bit sceptical of that.

Mary Lou McDonald: Will the witness find out who organised that meeting and if it was Brown Rudnick, Tughans or somebody acting on their behalf, given that it is what Cerberus was paying them for? It could be useful for the examination of this committee.

Mary Lou McDonald: I have two issues. First, are there any other matters that came to Mr. Neporent's attention in preparation for this meeting that he has not placed on the record? I would have expected Mr. Neportent, if he does not mind me saying, to have stated it in his opening statement merely to give us the benefit of the information that there had been a technical violation of the non-disclosure...

Mary Lou McDonald: Second, could Mr. Neporent give us a sense of his interactions and relationship with Lazard in the course of this transaction?
- Public Accounts Committee: Special Report No. 94 of the Comptroller and Auditor General: National Asset Management Agency Sale of Project Eagle (Resumed) (17 Nov 2016)

Mary Lou McDonald: Was it more truncated, more intense?
- Public Accounts Committee: Special Report No. 94 of the Comptroller and Auditor General: National Asset Management Agency Sale of Project Eagle (Resumed) (17 Nov 2016)
Mary Lou McDonald: Did Mr. Neporent know that Lazard had a different kind of role in respect of dealing with this portfolio as against other property or loan sales advisers? Did he have no sense that this was very much a bespoke situation?
- Public Accounts Committee: Special Report No. 94 of the Comptroller and Auditor General: National Asset Management Agency Sale of Project Eagle (Resumed) (17 Nov 2016)

- Public Accounts Committee: Special Report No. 94 of the Comptroller and Auditor General: National Asset Management Agency Sale of Project Eagle (Resumed) (17 Nov 2016)
Mary Lou McDonald: I accept that. Did Mr. Neporent have a conversation with anyone from Lazard at any stage in respect of PIMCO and its withdrawal?
