Peadar Tóibín: If a hedge is cut where birds nest, feed and live while rearing the next generation, that represents a physical change to their environment. If the State then decides to extend the period during which that can happen, there is a smaller window for these species to thrive.

Last May we saw really large fires take control of the landscape. It would be interesting to know what responsibility the Department has in preventing such fires.
