- HPV Vaccine: Motion [Private Members] (28 Mar 2018)
Niamh Smyth: I am delighted to see this motion before the House and I compliment Deputy Kelly. Each year in Ireland more than 6,500 women need hospital treatment for pre-cancer of the cervix. Some 300 women get cervical cancer, and ultimately 90 women die from it each year. Cervical cancer is caused by the HPV and we must trust the full spectrum of Irish health professionals, the World Health...

I ask the Minister to outline the details behind the decision.
- Select Committee on Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs: Estimates for Public Services 2018
Vote 33 - Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht (Revised) (28 Mar 2018) Niamh Smyth: The event generated 500,000 visitors, which proves it was very successful. Is there a reason the event has been postponed? Easter is a good time of year to celebrate the arts. There is merit in having nationwide festivals. Cruinniú na Cásca involved artists and local authorities. Has the idea of holding the event at Easter been axed from now on?

Niamh Smyth: I concur with Deputy Maureen O'Sullivan regarding speaking out of both sides of our mouths regarding how we treated the recent Russian episode and how the people of Ireland have been treated by the British authorities. It is 44 years since the atrocity when 33 people were killed, including an unborn child. These families continue to suffer. They are stopped at every avenue when it comes to...

- Services for People with Disabilities: Motion [Private Members] (27 Mar 2018)
