Has the Department contacted all the families, told them about the information it has on each family, the broad areas involved and that more information will be provided if the families want it? Surely there is an obligation on the Department to do that.

Some information of a very serious and sensitive medical and educational nature was being held on children, and that was being collected, in some instances without, in my view, the knowledge of the parents involved.
