Approval of Credit Institutions (Financial Support) Scheme 2008: Motion (17 Oct 2008)

Conor Lenihan: I apologise to the House in advance because I will not, on this occasion, rise to the passion and eloquence exhibited by Deputy Michael D. Higgins. Written Answers — Integration Strategy: Integration Strategy (14 Oct 2008)

Conor Lenihan: The question seems to imply that all Romanian nationals are Roma. In fact, Roma are a minority ethnic group in Romania and elsewhere. Many, but not all, of the Roma in Ireland came from Romania. There are no official statistics on the number of Roma here.
