Imelda Munster: I am not speaking about hands-free kits but about devices attached to the steering wheel or in the cradle beside the driver's seat into which a mobile phone can be inserted, thereby enabling the driver to text and so on. As it means taking his or her eyes off the road, it is a road safety issue. I am seeking to make it an offence to use a mobile phone held in such a device while driving.
