Imelda Munster: The Department of Social Protection PSO subsidy covers 41% of an average journey. I would like confirmation of a rumour that exists, namely, that private operators get a higher subsidy towards the average fare. Several people have mentioned that private operators are given upwards of 70%, which would be alarming were it the case.
