If its representatives come before the committee and we then have, for argument's sake, the Department of Justice and Equality in two weeks later, how then are we to deal with issues relating to buildings acquired by the Department through the OPW? While the Department gets the benefit of the building, the OPW manages the purchase.

Colm Burke: The figure I have is from the middle of 2019. Between December 2014 and the middle of 2019 there was an additional 60 nurses, which is an increase of approximately 3.5%, whereas in the hospital service there was an increase of 17% between nurse managers and nurses working on the front line. That is 17% compared with 3.5%. That does not fit when we are talking about community care.

Colm Burke: Mr. Sullivan said 47 training positions have been provided. Is that a sufficient number going into training in view of the new challenges we have? The elderly population will increase from approximately 640,000 to more than 1 million in the next nine years. Therefore, we need to have a lot more people providing care at the community level.
