Niall Collins: That Bill sought to place a minimum mandatory extra tariff on anybody who committed an assault on a nurse, garda, prison officer or fire fighter. These are people who work day in, day out, to protect people, communities and property. The Minister has spoken about a concern for the welfare of our front-line workers but his actions have not followed through in that regard.
