Denis O'Donovan: The point I want to make is that if we want more women on the High Court and the Supreme Court, 80% of lawyers are solicitors. If more solicitors were being chosen we would have a better chance of reaching a 40% or 45% measure in that regard by choosing from the ranks of solicitors of whom there are more women than men.
