Dick Roche: The Ring Helvic water supply scheme is included in my Department's water services investment programme 2004-06 as a scheme to start in 2005. Dick Roche: My Department has received a request to consider the designation of Newcastle Lough, Kells, County Meath, as a natural heritage area under the Wildlife Acts. My Department is currently arranging for an ecological survey and-or assessment of the site to be carried out. The results of this should be available early in 2005, following which the question of designation will be determined.

Dick Roche: Section 70 of the Roads Act 1993 obliges landowners and occupiers of land to take all reasonable care to ensure that hedges growing on their land are not, or could not become, a danger to people using or working on a public road.
