In Cork, on the coast off Kinsale, a value-for-money report was commissioned that found the Summercove station should be closed and the Oysterhaven unit purposely built up. There was also mention of sharing purpose-built buildings with the RNLI. Why was the Summercove station kept open when it was supposed to close?
