- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health: Update on Construction of National Children's Hospital: National Paediatric Hospital Development Board (27 Nov 2019)
Louise O'Reilly: I ask Mr. Barry to let me finish this one. At what point in the project do the majority of the claims arise? Is it towards the end of the project? At the time of the handover would he expect a spike in claims? Is it immediately post handover or would he expect it to continue at a steady pace during the course of the project?
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health: Update on Construction of National Children's Hospital: National Paediatric Hospital Development Board (27 Nov 2019)
Louise O'Reilly: Therefore, we would expect the €1 million claim to be settled if that was to be the case. Mr. Barry would not be expecting any major shocks out of that.
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health: Update on Construction of National Children's Hospital: National Paediatric Hospital Development Board (27 Nov 2019)
Louise O'Reilly: What percentage by value of the claims are settled? The question is not necessarily specific to this project but based on Mr. Barry's experience with large-scale infrastructural projects. Would it be 70% of the claims? I am talking about the value of claims and not the number of claims because 70% could relate to all the tiny claims or all the enormous ones.
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health: Update on Construction of National Children's Hospital: National Paediatric Hospital Development Board (27 Nov 2019)
Louise O'Reilly: What is Mr. Barry's estimate of the percentage by value of the claims that would be settled?
- Ceisteanna Eile - Other Questions: Hospital Accommodation Provision (26 Nov 2019)
Louise O'Reilly: 43. To ask the Minister for Health if he has had dealings or meetings in relation to a proposed private hospital in Swords, County Dublin [48892/19]
- Ceisteanna Eile - Other Questions: Hospital Accommodation Provision (26 Nov 2019)
Louise O'Reilly: The front pages of my local papers advise me that the local by-election candidate from the Minister's party is going to deliver a private hospital. My understanding from what has been said publicly on this is that there have been meetings at the highest level, up to and including An Taoiseach, so I should have probably included him in my question and that this is a project that Fine Gael has...
- Ceisteanna Eile - Other Questions: Hospital Accommodation Provision (26 Nov 2019)
Louise O'Reilly: Is the Minister saying that he has not met anybody, be they a colleague of his from his own party or somebody from the organisation who is building the hospital; that he has not had any meetings on this hospital? The impression is being given that the public purse will be used to purchase beds in this hospital. Since the Minister is talking about a 165% increase in capital spend, is...

- Ceisteanna (Atógáil) - Questions (Resumed) - Ceisteanna ar Sonraíodh Uain Dóibh - Priority Questions: Primary Care Centres Staff (26 Nov 2019)
Louise O'Reilly: 39. To ask the Minister for Health the staff, by occupation, working in each primary care centre run by the HSE; and the vacancies in each. [48902/19]
- Ceisteanna (Atógáil) - Questions (Resumed) - Ceisteanna ar Sonraíodh Uain Dóibh - Priority Questions: Primary Care Centres Staff (26 Nov 2019)
Louise O'Reilly: We know there are significant vacancies in primary care right across the State. I do not expect the Minister to dispute that, but perhaps he will. Some of those vacancies exist because GPs have retired or because we simply cannot get GPs to fill the vacancies, but there is a number of vacancies in primary care centres that are run and staffed by the HSE. That is a matter that falls within...
- Ceisteanna (Atógáil) - Questions (Resumed) - Ceisteanna ar Sonraíodh Uain Dóibh - Priority Questions: Primary Care Centres Staff (26 Nov 2019)
Louise O'Reilly: With the greatest respect, if the Minister is not identifying where the vacancies are, it strikes me that he is making it very difficult for himself to plug the gaps. I have asked parliamentary questions on this matter 17 or 18 times. The question relates to my area, which is a microcosm of what I believe is happening throughout the system. When I ask if we are getting additional staff in...
- Ceisteanna (Atógáil) - Questions (Resumed) - Ceisteanna ar Sonraíodh Uain Dóibh - Priority Questions: Primary Care Centres Staff (26 Nov 2019)
Louise O'Reilly: It is my contention that there is not a primary care centre in the State that is fully staffed with a multidisciplinary team in operation. I do not believe there is one offering a full range of services. It is a little bit disingenuous that time after time, when we question the Minister for Health or the Taoiseach about long waiting lists or overcrowding in accident and emergency...
