Catherine Murphy: It would be quite useful if the Department would give us an update when there is a change in this regard. I completely accept that these documents are fragile and that digitising them is a great way to allow people to use them without damaging them.

Catherine Murphy: There is obviously a good bit of work going on in the National Archives. The letter references the Public Records Office of Northern Ireland. I have been there on numerous occasions. I have toured this modern facility. It used to be in a terrible state when it was in a different location but it is now down in the Titanic Quarter. It collaborates quite closely with the National Archives.

Catherine Murphy: In the Titanic Quarter in Belfast. It is a purpose-built archive and the office really protects the records. I hope that, when we get an upgraded version here, we will have something similar.
