John Curran: I am not disputing that individual taxes may be higher or lower. I am telling the Deputy directly that the combined tax take, including VAT, vehicle registration tax, income tax and so on, is one of the lowest in Europe. He may choose not to acknowledge this by focussing on specifics. A press officer has not devised this comment for me.
