Arising from the controversy that surrounded the enactment of the Defamation Act and the inclusion of blasphemy, the Minister for Justice and Law Reform has since made an announcement to the effect that he intends to hold a referendum to excise the provision from the Constitution. The Taoiseach should indicate when it is intended to hold a referendum.
