Arthur Spring: So all the business is lumped together. In view of the fact that there are 2,000 claims, this means that the €35 million averages out at approximately €17,000 per claim. With exceptions and limits, the fund will allow a maximum payment of approximately 65%.

Arthur Spring: That works out at a payment of €11,375. In simple terms, therefore, the average shortfall is going to be approximately €6,125 per claim. That bleeds into some €12.25 million of assets which is required from the company in order to fix up the shortfall that exists, as that is 35% of the overall liabilities.
