Andrew Doyle: When we set about this work, it was intended to cover all sectors of the horse industry. If the harness racing people had not come in towards the end, we would probably have advanced to draft a report.

Andrew Doyle: The Irish Horse Welfare Trust has made a submission seeking some of that money for a centre of excellence and education. I know that because it is in my constituency.

Andrew Doyle: Yes. They are separate industries. I was involved a little in the sport horse industry. They operate differently but they are compatible and that is what we are trying to address. From the point of view of the committee's work, I thank the witnesses for their insight. If we want the various aspects of the horse industry to develop to their full potential, that could happen with goodwill...
