Ruth Coppinger: It is quite laughable to hear some Members opposite talking about Europe. We do nothing that they do in Europe. In Europe, they have twice the rate of our corporation tax. Our model is actually from the United Kingdom and it is much more likely the Government will go down the same road the UK did.

The claim there is an ideological aversion to privatising the water system is absolutely ludicrous. There are many Deputies who I could list who would like to see water services privatised as they have supported every other privatisation.
