Rose Conway-Walsh: I refer to progression on the Connacht Ulster Alliance. Ensuring apprenticeships are a vital component was referred to in the speech. When will the apprenticeship strategy be developed or when will it be finished? Can the Minister, Deputy Harris, speak about that in connection with the technological universities? We spoke last week about the ongoing funding needed. We want to avoid a...
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Education and Skills: Future Expansion of the Technological Universities: Discussion (23 Feb 2021)
Rose Conway-Walsh: The Minister should have. As he is aware, the Connacht Ulster Alliance is enormously important, in particular in terms of the transatlantic cable, opportunities in respect of climate change and investment opportunities in the west which fit with the Atlantic economic corridor. The Atlantic economic corridor has not been given the credence and opportunities we need to give it and that...
- Covid-19 (Enterprise, Trade and Employment): Statements (18 Feb 2021)
Rose Conway-Walsh: I foresee that as the various schemes for workers and businesses come to an end, a number of companies will be withdrawing from the State. What legislation does the Government have in place to ensure that workers' rights will be protected in that scenario and that we will not end up in the circumstances in which we ended up recently regarding the Debenhams and Arcadia workers? When is...

Applicants were accepted and then they were told later...
- Covid-19 (Agriculture, Food and the Marine): Statements (17 Feb 2021)
Rose Conway-Walsh: I thank the Minister for that response. Can the Minister guarantee me that every young farmer who wants a place on a course to do a Green Cert online or part-time will be guaranteed such a place? I need not outline to the Minister the implications for farmers in terms of income if that does not happen. This is done both through Teagasc and the higher and further education colleges.
- Covid-19 (Agriculture, Food and the Marine): Statements (17 Feb 2021)
Rose Conway-Walsh: These are time sensitive problems. The Minister knows that. With due respect to other Deputies, I really need to ensure a solution and this is easily solvable. We need to renew the contracts for the Teagasc education officers. We need to put the resources into the further education colleges so that they can be put online.
- Insurance (Restriction on Differential Pricing and Profiling) Bill 2021: Second Stage [Private Members] (17 Feb 2021)
Rose Conway-Walsh: I thank my Sinn Féin colleague, Deputy Doherty, for the painstaking work he has done in taking on the insurance industry. Unfortunately, this has been facilitated by compliant governments that have...
