- Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 32 (15 Oct 2009)
Seymour Crawford: I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to debate the following urgent matter: the serious income situation at farm family level and in respect of other self-employed people; the fact that social welfare inspectors are not taking into account the massive drop in income for beef and dairy farmers, due to, for instance, the fall of more than one third in milk prices or the...
- Order of Business (15 Oct 2009)
Seymour Crawford: In light of the visit from the US Secretary of State, Mrs. Hillary Clinton, will we have movement on the amending legislation to the George Mitchell Scholarship Fund Act 1998? When will it come before the House? We need to try to encourage the peace process. Many babies and children cannot get health care in Temple Street or Crumlin children's hospitals. When will the eligibility for...
- Labour Services (Amendment) Bill 2009: Second Stage (Resumed) (15 Oct 2009)
Seymour Crawford: I welcome the opportunity to speak on this important legislation. It is sad that it had to be introduced and is once again a sign of failure. It reminds me of the culture in our current structure. We had the banks, the builders and all the cronies living in the one tent, so to speak. The banks' representatives came into the Committee of Public Accounts and gave a full briefing to the...

Seymour Crawford: I welcome the opportunity to contribute to the debate on this important legislation. I congratulate the Minister and Deputy Reilly on discussing the issue to which it relates earlier today and I hope they will be able to reach an accommodation so that we might move matters forward. Insurance, particularly as it relates to private medical practices and clinics, is extremely important. I am...
- Order of Business (8 Oct 2009)
Seymour Crawford: I will remain in order.
- Order of Business (8 Oct 2009)
Seymour Crawford: I cannot help but ask about the status of the legal costs Bill. These people are receiving enormous sums of money at a time when others cannot put bread on the table. We have been promised this Bill for years but it remains on the back burner. In regard to the Department of Social and Family Affairs, a situation has arisen whereby many self-employed people, including farmers, do not have...

- Order of Business (7 Oct 2009)
Seymour Crawford: Now the Minister for Health and Children has finally announced the "Fair Deal", which is not fair and will cause major problems to many people, when will the Health Information Bill be dealt with so we can get the truth from the HSE? Will the Taoiseach organise a debate on agriculture? Farmers are desperate, farm assist grants are supposedly available but they are not because the personnel...

- National Asset Management Agency Bill 2009: Second Stage (Resumed). (6 Oct 2009)
Seymour Crawford: I support some of the comments made by the previous speaker. There are major questions over NAMA which need to be investigated and I am glad somebody on the Government side has admitted this. I welcome the opportunity to speak on the National Assets Management Agency Bill 2009, which is supposed to deal with what Deputy Brian Lenihan admitted to be one of the more serious issues in the...
- Order of Business (24 Sep 2009)
Seymour Crawford: I would like advice from the Tánaiste as to if and when the Government intends to act on the sale of alcohol as it is today, with so many young people-----
- Order of Business (24 Sep 2009)
Seymour Crawford: I refer to the sale of alcohol Bill. On a number of occasions, the attachment of fines has been discussed in this House. A Bill was prepared on this side of the House and we were told that because it was not perfect, the Government would introduce immediate legislation in that respect. It is not even on the list.
