Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport, Tourism and Sport: Irish Coast Guard: Discussion (11 May 2022)

Kieran O'Donnell: We are at a slight disadvantage here, in that the ink is only barely dry on the new terms of reference. To be honest, that is not adequate for us. We have come in as honest brokers on this matter. We will write to CUAG, but we expect a detailed follow-up on the terms of reference and the procedures, and what it is willing to do in terms of representation and the voting mechanisms. We will...

Kieran O'Donnell: If I might say, it is a slight twist. We would like CUAG to move into the representational space. Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport, Tourism and Sport: Irish Coast Guard: Discussion (11 May 2022)

Kieran O'Donnell: What we are seeking to do is to get to a position where it is a better Coast Guard. The volunteers are genuine people who were genuinely upset. We want to get a process in place so that people can work through it. We will write to Mr. Murray about the overall context and also about the Mulvey report, dealing with the concerns of the Irish Coast Guard Volunteers Representative Association....

Ceisteanna ar Pholasaí nó ar Reachtaíocht - Questions on Policy or Legislation (5 May 2022)

Kieran O'Donnell: In the latest draft of the Limerick Shannon metropolitan area transport strategy, phase 2 of the northern distributor road is not included. The National Transport Authority was before the transport committee recently and stated that it would be in the revised draft. It has now informed us that it is not in the revised draft because of a direct intervention from the Minister, Deputy Eamon...

To the first session, I welcome from the National Transport Authority, NTA, Ms Anne Graham, CEO, and Mr. Hugh Creegan, deputy CEO and director of transport planning and investment. Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport, Tourism and Sport: Transport Strategy for the Greater Dublin Region: Discussion (4 May 2022)

Kieran O'Donnell: Could Mr. Creegan go through that? Many queries have come in on it. Will he go through the process so we get to a point where we know, without fear of contradiction, that it will not be in the final strategy to be published?
