All Opposition parties opposed the provisions in the Dáil. We are in favour of maintaining the current health board structures. Frank Feighan: Will the Leader ask the Minister for Agriculture and Food to explain and intervene in the disastrous decision by Teagasc to proceed with phase 2 of the closure of many of its offices nationwide? I find it very callous that it has already taken a decision to close these offices but decided to wait until after the local elections. Will the Minister intervene to ensure these offices are kept open?

Frank Feighan: I welcome the Minister. He stated that the enactment of this Bill is a further indication of the Government's commitment to the delivery of a reformed health service, which has as its objective the maximisation of the level and quality of care provided to patients and clients in the years ahead.
