Ned O'Sullivan: I also wish to express my regret at the news of the resignation of our friend, Senator Denis Landy. He represented all the best traditions of the Labour Party. His priority was always the underdog, the working man. He was an outstanding public representative at local authority level for many years. He and I go back a long way. Ned O'Sullivan: I welcome both of the witnesses and thank them for coming before the committee. Their presentations were frank and informative. - Joint Oireachtas Committee on the Eighth Amendment of the Constitution: Obstetric Medicine in the Netherlands: Professor Sjef Gevers and Professor Eva Pajkrt, University of Amsterdam (23 Nov 2017)
Ned O'Sullivan: I will not pursue that issue. I suppose it is a matter for philosophy rather than anything else. On the legislation, I think I am correct in saying that an abortion will not be allowed to a young person between the ages of 12 and 16 without parental consent.
