Will Facebook make the training material available to the committee and the public in order that we can all see how the company does its business, what criteria it uses and how and why these should be applied? It would be very useful for the committee and the public to have access to all the training material.

Bríd Smith: I cannot corroborate it, but I cannot imagine there would have been many complaints about the Britain First page before it was taken down. Coincidentally, it was taken down when some of the group's leaders were sent to prison. I will leave it at that, but I will check it out. I am sure the content was more egregious than what would have been allowed for in the company's policy.

Bríd Smith: I can prove that is not the case as there is an anti-Palestinian post every 46 seconds which is left up, but more than 90% of all Palestinian pages are removed. That is not treating both sides the same. Clearly, there is a preference for the powerful and the elite over others, as many studies or publications demonstrate.
