Gerard Craughwell: What a lesson I have had today in understanding what has been confusing for years. I am looking at the old wording of the Constitution, which states "The State shall, therefore, endeavour to ensure that mothers shall not be obliged by economic necessity to engage in labour to the neglect of their duties in the home."
