Thomas Gould: The Chairman is absolutely correct. Where there is a lack of education or information, we step into the breach, although one could call us old-fashioned in that way.

Thomas Gould: In regard to education, when there are multiple elections at one time, it can be off-putting for people who are not confident about voting. There might be a referendum, and a European election and a local election, or a general election, all in one day, and referendums can be complicated. Even though the Referendum Commission does excellent work, more needs to be done in this area.
