Niamh Smyth: I have always been treated with courtesy and my experience has always been a good one. I ask that Virgin Media keep doing what it is doing. I agree with many of the comments made by the members. Virgin Media is good at getting out on the ground, even to a small town like Bailieborough in County Cavan one evening at the start of the pandemic. It means a great deal to people in more rural...

We could sit here all evening debating the topic. I understand the situation in which the newspapers find themselves. The witnesses have brought a very clear message to the committee as to what government needs to do in supporting them in...
- Ceisteanna ar Reachtaíocht a Gealladh - Questions on Promised Legislation (15 Dec 2020)
Niamh Smyth: Last night "RTÉ Investigates" very powerfully demonstrated the horror, trauma and tragedy of the killings of Geraldine O'Reilly, who was 15, and Paddy Stanley, who was 16, in the Belturbet bombings 48 years ago. Nobody has been convicted. To compound the grief further, the families have suffered further because An Garda Síochána will not disclose the contents of the reports...

Niamh Smyth: I want to ask about the Oriel Residential Care Home in Carrickmacross in County Monaghan. It is a beautiful, state-of-the-art building which is lying empty, with no staff and therefore no service users. The facility cost €1.5 million, and is a seven-bedroom residential care centre for people with physical and sensory disabilities. I understand the HSE has given a figure of...
- Ceisteanna Eile - Other Questions: Family Support Services (10 Dec 2020)
Niamh Smyth: I hope that the review, negotiations and the work of the stakeholders involved will bear fruit for the parents who find themselves in acrimonious break-ups.
