- Ceisteanna ar Reachtaíocht a Gealladh - Questions on Promised Legislation (16 Dec 2021)
Anne Rabbitte: I thank the Deputy for raising that question. There is no organisation left starved for cash after this budget. One of my major priorities in funding this year was respite. The real issue is we have to reduce staff in buildings where we have the virus. I am happy to say all the organisations are working hard to bring it back up to 100% capacity to ensure families get the respite they need.

Anne Rabbitte: I wish to make a personal explanation pursuant to Standing Order 56 and to correct the record of the House concerning my concluding statement on Thursday, 11 November, during the Dáil debate on the Farrelly commission of investigation. Deputy Ó Cathasaigh asked me if there were other national independent review panels, NIRPs, in place in disability services. I indicated that...

- Seanad: Health and Criminal Justice (Covid-19) (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill 2021: Committee and Remaining Stages (15 Dec 2021)
Anne Rabbitte: The Minister for Health acknowledges that the powers in these Acts are wide ranging and they will only be in place for as long as is absolutely necessary. They are short-term public health measures to enable us to act swiftly to protect public health and the progress that everyone in this country has made sacrifices to achieve. The Minister has listened to the concerns from the House and in...

- Seanad: Health and Criminal Justice (Covid-19) (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill 2021: Committee and Remaining Stages (15 Dec 2021)
Anne Rabbitte: I thank Senators Keogan, Clifford-Lee and Gavan for their contributions. I want to respond to what has been said, and, as Senators can imagine, my reply is not scripted. I have no choice but to answer Senator Keogan because she posed the question. Last night, the Taoiseach appeared on the news. He clearly stated that schools will not be closing. On mixed messaging, one could say the...
