- Road Traffic (Amendment) Bill 2015: Second Stage [Private Members] (17 Feb 2015)
Timmy Dooley: I am sharing my time with Deputy McGuinness who is from Kilkenny and knows Roseann and her family. I welcome the opportunity to contribute on this Bill and compliment Deputy Ellis on providing this opportunity in the House. Fianna Fáil supports the Bill and I am pleased the House is in agreement on this important proposal on road safety. Debate earlier today and on most days...
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications: Proposed Sale of Aer Lingus: (Resumed) Aer Lingus and Stobart Air (17 Feb 2015)
Timmy Dooley: I thank the witnesses for the presentations and also congratulate Mr. Kavanagh. I will be as quick as possible, because there are quite a few questions. To clarify the issue that was raised regarding 200 versus 500 jobs, my understanding was that when Mr. Walsh was asked what he intended to bring to Aer Lingus, he said the contribution would be in terms of sales and supporting the efforts...

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications: Proposed Sale of Aer Lingus: (Resumed) Aer Lingus and Stobart Air (17 Feb 2015)
Timmy Dooley: That is fine. I am astonished by Mr. Barrington's statement that he is not sure whether Aer Lingus would have its own board after an amalgamation. It is amazing that the decision was taken to recommend the proposed amalgamation on the basis that it would be of benefit to Ireland, Aer Lingus customers and the economy as a whole, without having first clarified this fundamental issue to...

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications: Proposed Sale of Aer Lingus: (Resumed) Aer Lingus and Stobart Air (17 Feb 2015)
Timmy Dooley: In fairness to Mr. Brogan, he answered my question. The only comment I will make in response is that we should not be under any illusions about the IAG proposal because Mr. Walsh will do exactly the same, notwithstanding any guarantees Mr. Brogan or Mr. Barrington may be given in the meantime. One would not expect Mr. Walsh to do anything else. Mr. Brogan's response has been helpful.

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on European Union Affairs: Possible Exit of UK from European Union: Discussion (Resumed) (17 Feb 2015)
Timmy Dooley: I thank the four speakers for their thought-provoking presentations. It is often difficult to have European matters discussed in this country because much of the time people do not appreciate their relevance or potential impact. It is very clear from all of the presentations that the public has not really zoned in on this topic, which is why this discussion is timely and helpful for our...

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications: Proposed Sale of Aer Lingus: (Resumed) IAG (12 Feb 2015)
Timmy Dooley: I welcome Mr. Walsh and Mr. Griffin. It has been a while since Mr. Walsh was here with us and clearly his career has gained altitude since then and we wish him well with that. The concerns that I and others have expressed in recent weeks have been in response to industry sources, that is, people who are responsible for employing large numbers of people in Dublin, the mid-west and in the...
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications: Proposed Sale of Aer Lingus: (Resumed) IAG (12 Feb 2015)
Timmy Dooley: Could Mr. Walsh come back to me on the expansion plans at Dublin, Cork and Shannon? He has still not really told me what is in it for IAG. Aer Lingus has been performing very well in the north of England hubbing transatlantic passengers through Dublin. Has that been a concern to British Airways? Has Aer Lingus been raiding the north of England at the expense of British Airways and is...
