Terry Leyden: It would be useful if we could discuss the future role of the board. The new Government has promised transparency and that everything will be above board, fair, honourable and honest. It would be only right and proper that judicial appointments are made on the advice of the judicial advisory board. The person it recommends should be appointed on the basis of merit.
