Micheál Martin: The Employment Permits Section of my Department has informed me that an application was received on 21 March 2007. This application was refused on 21 June 2007 on the basis that the position the employer seeks to fill is ineligible for a work permit. The employer was notified of this decision in writing and of their right to appeal. To date no such appeal has been received.

Under no circumstances are we doing that. In every walk of life, people take these decisions to go to the courts while being aware of the issues and costs.
