- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport, Tourism and Sport: National Broadband Plan Update: National Broadband Ireland (27 Jan 2022)
Ruairí Ó Murchú: It will be the tiniest question. The witnesses may or may not have the answer. It has to do with UTi Ireland. NBI was able to give out some information about the owners of this telecoms infrastructure management company. What is the difference with UTi or is there one?

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport, Tourism and Sport: National Broadband Plan Update: National Broadband Ireland (27 Jan 2022)
Ruairí Ó Murchú: Let us see, in as much as possible, if those figures could be published. I know the NBI will end up in a scenario where there is nothing it does that does not end up on the website, but it does not do any harm. The more information in the public domain, the fewer questions there will bee, even if it is bad news because that can happen from time to time.
- Regulation of Providers of Building Works Bill 2022: Second Stage (Resumed) (26 Jan 2022)
Ruairí Ó Murchú: A considerable amount has been said and I can do nothing but agree with it. This matter is straightforward, as many of my colleagues said earlier. We all accept the major difficulties with building regulation. We all know people who have fallen foul of the lack of both regulation and redress. We need to facilitate those who are being impacted by the travesty and tragedy of mica, and 100%...
- Youth Mental Health: Statements (26 Jan 2022)
Ruairí Ó Murchú: Whether we are dealing with youth mental health services or adult mental health services, it only works if we have every slot in the process that is necessary. We have all spoken about our own constituencies and constituents who have come to us and cannot get appointments, assessments or follow-up services. Some of them will have had difficulties in how they were treated by the service, and...

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on European Union Affairs: Special EU Programmes Body: Engagement with the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform (26 Jan 2022)
Ruairí Ó Murchú: That is good and possibly one of the few things to be salvaged from Brexit. What does the Minister mean by the pre-application work or the preparatory work that has been done by the SEUBP?
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on European Union Affairs: Special EU Programmes Body: Engagement with the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform (26 Jan 2022)
Ruairí Ó Murchú: I agree completely that there is an onus on all of us to ensure information gets out to the organisations and that those relationships are made. I have seen where some of the smaller pieces of work have been done. The SEUBP and whoever else have made connections with some organisations. In some cases, it is about redirecting them and pointing out that this does not necessarily suit them...

Ruairí Ó Murchú: It is not a question. It is about ensuring that, as I said, whether it is local authorities or whoever is involved, nobody adds any complications. I think we all agree that would be a positive thing to do.
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on European Union Affairs: Special EU Programmes Body: Engagement with the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform (26 Jan 2022)
Ruairí Ó Murchú: The small grants, and looking at some of the learnings and difficulties that would have previously existed around the bureaucracy, are very positive measures.
