Ceisteanna ar Reachtaíocht a Gealladh - Questions on Promised Legislation (18 Sep 2019)

Carol Nolan: I ask the Minister to call on the HSE to suspend its plans to implement this cut. It is shameful in light of the fact that we ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities only a few years ago, which should have happened long ago. Ceisteanna ar Reachtaíocht a Gealladh (Atógáil) - Questions on Promised Legislation (Resumed) (11 Jul 2019)

Carol Nolan: Depopulation in rural regions is still a major issue. I and other rural Deputies have seen that there is no common sense when it comes to people, and particularly young couples, who want to live in rural communities. Those who want to build homes on their family's land are being denied that opportunity. What action is the Government going to take to alleviate the difficulties faced by...

EU-Mercosur Trade Agreement: Statements (Resumed) (9 Jul 2019)

Carol Nolan: The Mercosur deal provides for additional imports from South American countries. Has that been taken into consideration? These countries are seeking 99,000 tonnes of beef exports in addition to the 269,000 tonnes they are allowed already. Has that been considered seriously by the Government and the Commissioner? It seems to be very excessive.

Carol Nolan: The Minister mentioned forging alliances after the impact assessment. That unnerves and concerns me greatly. The Minister and Commissioner have been informed of the serious and genuine concerns of the farming organisations such as the Irish Farmers Association. Ceisteanna ar Reachtaíocht a Gealladh - Questions on Promised Legislation (4 Jul 2019)

Carol Nolan: Iwant to add my voice to that call. I have stood with the paramedics who were forced into taking strike action. It is an action they did not take lightly. I know from a response to a parliamentary question that they responded to over 34,000 overtime calls last year. They do fantastic work and they deserve respect and the right to join the union of their choice.
