James Lawless: As no other members are offering, I will make an observation. With regard to the pretrial hearings that are proposed, normally directions would be given by a judge at a call-over of cases prior to the sessions commencing and legal applications would be made before a jury is empanelled. Is it envisaged that the pretrial hearings will replace the current procedure?
