- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation: Operation and Resourcing of Coimisiún na Meán: Digital Services Commissioner (28 Feb 2024)
Maurice Quinlivan: Before we finish, I have a question on trusted flaggers and where we are at with that. Is it the intention that Coimisiún na Meán will invite people to apply for those positions? Have people already applied for it? Has anyone been approved yet? It was mentioned that if a body applied now it would be approved by the summer, but have a number of organisations been approved already?

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation: Operation and Resourcing of Coimisiún na Meán: Digital Services Commissioner (28 Feb 2024)
Maurice Quinlivan: Deputy Stanton has already asked my second question. It has to do with monitoring online content. The commission mentioned that it would not be acting in the role of online censor. That is understandable, but does Dr. Evans believe the commission will monitor some content or will it wait for complaints to come in? I believe he stated that there had been 108 contacts already, with only...
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation: Operation and Resourcing of Coimisiún na Meán: Digital Services Commissioner (28 Feb 2024)
Maurice Quinlivan: As no one else has indicated, I thank Dr. Evans and Mr. Kenny for assisting the committee in our consideration of this important matter. That concludes the business of the committee in public session. I propose that we go into private session to continue other business. Is that agreed? Agreed.
- Mental Health (Amendment) Bill 2023: Second Stage (Resumed) [Private Members] (27 Feb 2024)
Maurice Quinlivan: Nobody in this House believes that we will be sitting here in nine months. This Dáil will be gone by then. The Minister of State, therefore, is not just stopping or delaying this Bill, she is torpedoing it. That is unfortunate because the Bill seeks to give statutory powers to the Mental Health Commission to regulate CAMHS. It would allow for the implementation of the commission's...

- Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2024: Second Stage (21 Feb 2024)
Maurice Quinlivan: The Bill and its ambitions are positive. Any efforts made to expand medical card eligibility to a wider group of people is something I welcome. The benefits of a medical card are multiple and the lack of one can have a detrimental impact on someone's finances as they look to avail of hospital services, maternity services and necessary GP visits. Access to a medical card removes a barrier...
