- Order of Business (7 Nov 2017)
Danny Healy-Rae: He is one of Fine Gael's councillors.
- Order of Business (7 Nov 2017)
Danny Healy-Rae: In recent days, there is a lot of talk about the review of the local authority boundaries and, indeed, the gerrymandering that is about to take place. Can the Taoiseach explain how one of his councillors in Kerry is already saying that the boundary review is sorted out in Kerry and that Castleisland is being taken out of the Killarney electoral area? How does he know that?
- Order of Business (7 Nov 2017)
Danny Healy-Rae: It is gerrymandering, I think.
- Written Answers — Department of Education and Skills: Pupil-Teacher Ratio (7 Nov 2017)
Danny Healy-Rae: 374. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills his plans to reverse pupil teacher thresholds to 2011/2012 levels; his further plans to ensure a campaign (details supplied) is commenced in September 2018; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [46405/17]
- Written Answers — Department of Housing, Planning, and Local Government: Nitrates Usage (26 Oct 2017)
Danny Healy-Rae: 55. To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government the reason farmers in Northern Ireland can spread slurry for the entire year depending on ground conditions and weather in view of the fact that the entire island has similar land and weather conditions; the reason farmers here do not have the same conditions (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter....
- Tracker Mortgages: Motion [Private Members] (25 Oct 2017)
Danny Healy-Rae: If what happened in this country over the last number of years happened in other jurisdictions, there would be a lot of fire brigades out and a lot of places burnt because people in other countries would not tolerate something like this. It has been happening continuously and is caused by the banking system we have and the bankers we have. I have a few questions, like other Deputies....
- European Council: Statements (25 Oct 2017)
Danny Healy-Rae: The IFA, the Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association, ICMSA, and all other farming bodies are concerned about our €2.5 billion beef deal with England. That is how much we depend on the British market. If we were to lose that, it would be disastrous for the whole of the country, especially the western counties, of which County Kerry is one. Cow numbers will collapse. The bodies...
- Questions on Promised Legislation (25 Oct 2017)
Danny Healy-Rae: It is legislation they are after bringing in and it is affecting so many farmers-----
- Questions on Promised Legislation (25 Oct 2017)
Danny Healy-Rae: There was no interaction and he totally ignored the IFA and other farming bodies by bringing in this legislation. He agreed he would not do this and this is what he has done. Fine Gael is facilitating the Minister, Deputy Ross, and hurting many farmers who are hurt badly enough as it is with the inclement weather of the last two to three months.
- Questions on Promised Legislation (25 Oct 2017)
Danny Healy-Rae: This Government and the Minister, Deputy Ross, brought in legislation allowing for MOT testing of tractors capable of doing speeds of over 40 km/h which travel more than 25 km from the owner's yard. The Taoiseach may not be aware of this, but farmers where I come from have cattle in for over a month. They will have to draw silage, hay and straw from distances of much farther than 25 km-----
- Leaders' Questions (25 Oct 2017)
Danny Healy-Rae: That is not right. The Taoiseach should visit Kerry to see what is happening there.
- Finance Bill 2017: Second Stage (Resumed) (25 Oct 2017)
Danny Healy-Rae: I too am glad of the opportunity to raise a few issues arising from the budget. I first will reiterate what my colleagues have said in respect of social welfare payments. People are very hurt and angry about the meagre extra amount they will now receive. They have been told that they will get €5 but it is not even clear if they will get that full amount. They will now have to wait...
- Finance Bill 2017: Second Stage (Resumed) (25 Oct 2017)
Danny Healy-Rae: Yes, he will.
- Finance Bill 2017: Second Stage (Resumed) (25 Oct 2017)
Danny Healy-Rae: That is right.
- Finance Bill 2017: Second Stage (Resumed) (25 Oct 2017)
Danny Healy-Rae: If he is only getting the site, he will have to pay the 6% and transfer the site to his name before he can get a bank loan. I know what I am talking about because people very close to me have had to do this already and will have to do it again now and the duty has risen from 2% to 6%. I am grateful for the funding that was given to local improvement schemes last year and I hope that it...
- Housing: Motion [Private Members] (24 Oct 2017)
Danny Healy-Rae: I will be parochial about the housing problem and perhaps change the debate slightly. Killarney is no different from many other places in that there is a significant housing list and houses are scarce at the present time. Anything from €900 to €1,200 per month is being asked in rent for houses but the maximum rent allowable under the housing assistance payment scheme is...
- Written Answers — Department of Finance: Insurance Costs (24 Oct 2017)
Danny Healy-Rae: 44. To ask the Minister for Finance the steps he has taken regarding the rising cost of insurance in view of the fact that the insurance companies now available to the market are keeping prices up at unreasonable levels; if the companies profits can be determined or controlled in view of the fact that since a company (details supplied) was forced out of the market the cost of insurance has...

- Written Answers — Department of Health: Community Care Provision (24 Oct 2017)
Danny Healy-Rae: 213. To ask the Minister for Health if his Department has provided funding to the HSE in order to enhance the ophthalmic services in County Kerry regarding the community ophthalmic services medical treatment scheme, in view of the fact that there are persons on the waiting list since 2013; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
