Jack Chambers: Tógfaidh mé Ceisteanna Uimh. 256, 257, 258, 259 and 260 le chéile. Rinneadh an cinneadh tar éis dom dul i ndáil comhairle le páirtithe leasmhara - idir lucht lóistín, lucht stiúrtha na...

The CSO is an independent office of the Civil Service under the aegis of the Taoiseach. The role of the director general of the CSO, as prescribed by the Statistics Act 1993, provides that the...

(3 Jun 2021)

Jack Chambers: There is provision in its Vote. Given the multi-annual cycle of statistics, demand arises in certain years because of particular surveys, for example, the national census. If the Deputy looks through the Vote's various elements, he will see there can be a fluctuation in spending between years. With the National Statistics Board, NSB, the Government is strategically supporting our national...

Jack Chambers: As the Deputy is aware, e-health activity is led by the Department of Health specifically. As part of our engagement with Europe, e-health is referenced in the recovery and resilience facility. The national recovery plan was launched this week. We all recognise we need to strengthen the provision of e-health, but I do not know whether it is a direct competence of the CSO. The combined...

As the Deputy will appreciate, foremost in that decision was the safety of the public...
