- Seanad: Order of Business (20 Oct 2011)
Catherine Noone: I agree with my colleagues, particularly Senator Paul Coghlan, on the Roma gypsy issue. There are people of all nationalities in this country who are in difficulty but these organised gangs do not appear to fall into that category. I cannot put it any better than Senator Mooney and Senator Paul Coghlan. However, the Minister for Justice and Equality is a very reasonable and efficient man...

- Seanad: Order of Business. (19 Oct 2011)
Catherine Noone: I join Senator Marc MacSharry and other speakers in voicing my concerns about the name of our national football and rugby stadium. Unfortunately, we all seem to have taken quickly to referring to it by its new name. If Senator MacSharry's figures are correct, we have more of a right to call it Lansdowne Road Stadium than Aviva does to call it by its new name. I cannot understand why we all...
- Seanad: Order of Business. (19 Oct 2011)
Catherine Noone: Yes, and I wish to highlight the issue. These enhanced consumer rights are a positive development. Of particular interest is the ban on pre-ticked boxes. Catherine Noone: I welcome the Minister of State to the House and I also welcome the Bill. It will ensure a cohesive strategy will be put in place which will help stabilise our financial institutions and restore confidence in the market. - Seanad: Order of Business (12 Oct 2011)
Catherine Noone: I support Senator Darragh O'Brien's comments on Aviva. Recently the Minister, Deputy Deenihan, announced a number of jobs - perhaps one of my Kerry colleagues can assist me with how many. Those jobs had come back from India or another country in the east having previously gone there because it was more economical. Now these jobs are starting to come back to Ireland. We need to regard this...

- Seanad: Order of Business. (11 Oct 2011)
Catherine Noone: I bring to people's attention Arts & Disability Ireland whose policy and strategic direction document I was delighted to launch yesterday. It is further evidence of the huge benefit the arts bring to the community, and I congratulate all involved with that. I join Senators O'Keeffe and van Turnhout in expressing concern about the forthcoming referendums. People are bamboozled with elections...

Catherine Noone: Whichever of you.
- Seanad: Order of Business (6 Oct 2011)
Catherine Noone: I join my colleagues in their remarks on women. We must start at the top, we must treat women in this building better. I do not mean that in a personal way but we could start with the Seanad. Was the Seanad a complete afterthought? There are no facilities near the Seanad, we must go half a mile to use them. I am sorry to talk about something so base on the Order of Business but it should...
