Chartered Accountants Ireland has confirmed that it allows banks to conceal losses while its counterpart in the UK has admitted that the same loophole is contrary to European company law. John McGuinness: No, it is not. It goes beyond that. That is the point I am making. It is a civil dispute in that the agents are contesting their contractual arrangements, but there is also the issue of the bank's activity as outlined within the tied agents' argument.
