Pearse Doherty: That is obviously massive. It is great news for the person who is committing this crime because, obviously, 700 cases where there were victims are not being investigated by the Garda, if it does not have the information.

Pearse Doherty: Do the financial institutions not have automatic reporting to An Garda Síochána? I dealt with this matter previously in the context of a different committee. If someone is aware of a crime being committed - as far as I know, it is under section 10 of some legislation, but I stand open to correction - it is an offence not to report that.
