Pat Deering: After a difficult year, it is also important that we have the 50% payment of the single farm payment coming through this week. Deputy McNamara referred earlier to what Fianna Fáil contributed to agriculture in this country in recent years, namely, suspension of the early retirement scheme, suspension of young farmers installation aid-----

Pat Deering: The list is endless as to what they contributed to agriculture in recent years. I will conclude by thanking Fianna Fáil once again for giving us the opportunity to highlight the current position of agriculture and the importance it will play in the future. I compliment the Minister, Deputy Coveney, on the work he has done to date in trying to ensure we get the best possible deal in Europe.
