Andrew Doyle: To be helpful, the tests that were made public yesterday on the held batches at Rangeland Foods Limited and the company in the North showed a horsemeat content of 75%. That is probably the best indication of the content.
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Burger Content Investigations: Discussion (5 Feb 2013)

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Scrutiny of EU Legislative Proposals (5 Feb 2013)

Is it agreed to note the responses received from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine dated 17 December 2012 and 23 January 2013? Agreed. - Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Agricultural and Environmental Practices on Farms: Discussion with Comhairle na Tuaithe (29 Jan 2013)
Andrew Doyle: I thank Ms Moylette. The discussion today has informed us and reassured us that there is an entity within a Department that has a grasp of all the issues. Ms Moylette mentioned she would approach the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine, which is very important. To be fair, that Department was handed the draft commonage rules from another Department, the Department of Arts, Heritage...
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Agricultural and Environmental Practices on Farms: Discussion with Comhairle na Tuaithe (29 Jan 2013)
Andrew Doyle: I wish to raise a number of points. I live in County Wicklow and the National Waymarked Trails, the national trails strategy has worked very well. Much of the access to the open countryside has necessitated going through land that is privately owned or owned by Coillte but an issue that is now being aired is dogs roaming on the open hills on which there are existing rights. Deputy Ó...
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Agricultural and Environmental Practices on Farms: Discussion with Comhairle na Tuaithe (29 Jan 2013)
Andrew Doyle: As the witnesses from Comhairle na Tuaithe are under some time pressure, I propose that the joint committee first hear their presentation, after which we will go into private session to deal with housekeeping matters and EU legislative proposals. Is that agreed? Agreed. I have received apologies from Deputy Thomas Pringle and Senators Brian Ó Domhnaill and Michael Comiskey. I ask...

- Written Answers — Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Animal Welfare Issues (16 Jan 2013)
Andrew Doyle: To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine further to Parliamentary Question No. 361 of 11 December 2012, if he will confirm that dog pounds, rescues and shelters will be subject to the provisions of the Animal Health and Welfare Bill; if he intends to undertake cooperative action with the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government who are only responsible for the...
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Burren Farming for Conservation Programme: Discussion (15 Jan 2013)
Andrew Doyle: On behalf of all members of the committee, I thank the witnesses who have attended this meeting. It was an ideal presentation for us to start with in our consideration of the commonage framework proposals. The witnesses have made a lot of sense. Dr. Moran referred to the combination of food production and economic environmental concerns. In the past, I have said that instead of a Common...
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Burren Farming for Conservation Programme: Discussion (15 Jan 2013)
Andrew Doyle: To be honest, that is being generous as regards how much they are spending. However, the committee would be delighted to visit the Burren at some stage if we have an opportunity to do so. I thank the witnesses for the invitation. That concludes our proceedings for today. As there is no other business, the meeting stands adjourned until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, 22 January 2013.

Andrew Doyle: That is a fabulous insight.
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Burren Farming for Conservation Programme: Discussion (15 Jan 2013)
Andrew Doyle: Dr. Dunford, you said one of your goals is the adoption of the Burren model for high nature value farmland at a national level under the new rural development programme. Are you referring to Pillar 2 of the next round of CAP? Are you proposing that the programme would form part of that? That would seem to make sense if you are seeking a stream of funding. I know you did not particularly...
